Name: Beethoven and Blue Jeans: Beethoven Meets the Wild West
Date: February 17, 2018
Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM CST
Event Description:
Beethoven saddles up for this concert with the LPO full of incongruous orchestral favorites. The concert is off to the races with Gioachino Rossini’s William Tell Overture, most famously used as theme music for The Lone Ranger. The adventure barrels ahead with a few selections from the cowboy-themed ballet, Rodeo, with Aaron Copland’s Corral Nocturne and Hoe Down. Finally, it’s time to put the horses out to pasture and enjoy the countryside with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 ‘Pastoral.’ Conducted by Timothy Muffitt.
